Project Update 3/31

Image
1. This week I chose the rest of my quotes for the inspiration book and finalized the categories I want to organize them into.  2. Right now I am working on what I want the style of the book to look like. I have been getting inspiration from poetry books and from other compilations of quotes. I want the book to look cohesive and not like I threw a bunch of random pictures of quotes onto some pages.  3. The next thing I'm going to do is create a PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation with all of the quotes divided into the sections I want them to be in and try to find a way to add any graphics I want on the pages so I can have some sort of outline for how the book can be created.  Below is one of the pictures I have been taking inspiration from to create the pages.

Project Update 3/24/20

So far, in the process of completing my inspirational quote book for my 20-time project and Mr.Blair's classroom, I have started to gather quotes and divide them into categories of what their topic is. I had thought that by March 15 I would have a list of categories that I would want to section the book into, but this proved to be a little bit harder than I thought it would be. I think this is proving to be harder than I had anticipated because a lot fo the quotes I am finding and planning on using have more than one theme or could be interpreted more than one way to have a different meaning to each person. This is not a bad thing but it might cause me to maybe re-think how I would like to format or section the book.  Luckily, my project has not at all been affected by the coronavirus pandemic or the fact that we have not been in school and doing cyber school. My project, fortunately, did not have to do with interacting with other people or doing something inside of the John Carr...

Elevator Pitch

The problem that I have decided to find a solution to was the fact that I thought Mr. Balir's book that was being used to try to inspire students before each class period was dated and not inspiring. This could be bad because if Mr. Blair's goal of using the original book was to inspire people and the people who are meant to be inspired just end up being bored and confused, he has wasted time nad not really done anything to benefit his students. A simple solution to this issue is available! And that would bee to make a new inspirational quote book for Mr. Blair to use in his classes. Why am I the person for the job you may ask? Because I have heard a majority of the quotes in the old inspiration book, and I have been in the role of someone who should be inspired. With the help of this 20-time project, I hope to bring new inspiration into room 110 with a book of true inspiration that is relevant and relatable to John Carroll's English students.

20 Time Proposal: A New Book of Inspiration

My project is to compile a book of new, modern, inspirational quotes for Mr.Blair to use before the start of each class instead of using his current and very dated "inspirational" quote book.  Needs and Opportunities The problem that I noticed was that Mr.Blair's inspirational quote book was full of old quotes by people his students did not know of and could not relate to. The solution to this problem is to compile a group of new quotes that John Carroll students can relate to and can be used before each one of Mr.Blair's classes to actually inspire his class for that mod and hopefully the rest of the day.  Audience / Clients / Users The audience that this project reaches and impacts is Mr. Blair and every student that he teaches. It can help Mr.Blair accomplish his goal of trying to inspire his students before each class, while at the same time, benefiting the students in his classroom by giving them a new variety of quotes to choose from to inspire t...
